8 Practices for a Positive Mental Attitude

To create a positive attitude in your life place the following practices into your life:

1. Engage in self-talk. Telling yourself you can do something will help you succeed. Before you do anything tell yourself you can do it. Keep your self-talk positive and focused to achieve your goals.
 
2. Think only positive thoughts. Think positively all the time and eventually this will become a part of your life. Like with most things practice makes perfect and at first you will need to practice thinking only positive thoughts. This may take some time, but will eventually become effortless.

3. Think about the positive things you expect to accomplish today. Take some time to think about the positive things that will happen, before you begin your day. Reinforce these thoughts throughout the day.

4. Think about the positive things that happened today. Before you go to sleep take some time to think about every positive thing that happened today and how it made you feel.

5. Substitute positive thoughts for negative thoughts. As you go about your day, become aware of your thoughts. Any time a negative thought, anger, or sadness enters into your mind substitute a positive thought in its place.

6. Keep negative thoughts out of your mind. Concentrate on the positives of life. When a negative situation occurs don't let them drag you down. Find a way to turn them into a positive.

7. Always look on the bright side. Make it a habit to look for the good in life rather than the bad. Always find the silver linings even in the worst situations.

8. Surround yourself with positive people. By being around positive people you will see optimistic views and gain encouragement in your life. You can also give positive views and encouragement.
 
Develop a positive mental attitude and you will see the difference it will make in your life. Sometimes it will be the thing that will keep you going when thing are at their worst. Keeping positive thoughts and removing negative thoughts will help you create the better life that you want and you deserve.
